Daily Post: Revelling in the Fascination of Language

If you could wake up tomorrow and be fluent in any language you don’t currently speak, which would it be? Why? What’s the first thing you do with your new linguistic skills?

Photographers, artists, poets: show us TONGUE.

May the “Rosetta Fairy” bless me with multilingual skills!

On this day, I choose the language of songs, Hindi. The reasons: I am fascinated with Indian culture; Bollywood movies are my guilty pleasure; and I have a dream to someday journey though India, a country of mixed landscapes and rich traditions.

Bags packed, all calls forwarded to voicemail, with camera and passport in hand, I plan to put my newly acquired linguistic skill to practice at Mysore’s famous Devaraja Market, one of India’s best bazaars. Who knows what surprising treasures I’ll find and amazing people I’ll meet along the way.

My attempt at the photography challenge: TONGUE
